Unfortunately due to continued low attendances, the music club nights have come to an end. The aim of The Life Of Riley Music Club (LORMC) was always to showcase talented musicians, bands and singer/songwriters across a variety of musical genres whilst providing some great value entertainment in Marlow. It was never the intention to make any huge profit, but the hope was that the gigs would at least break even. Alas, this was not the case and continued losses made the project no longer viable.
This was the second attempt in the last couple of years at getting an independent live music venue in Marlow off the ground. A change in venue and moving the nights from a weekday to the weekend didn’t make a significant difference in the end. My deep felt thanks must go to Christ Church for accommodating the club and to all those people who did come along to support live music. One should never say never. Who knows? Perhaps the Life of Riley Music Club will return one day.
For now, both established and up-and-coming artists are welcome to put themselves forward for consideration to play live on Marlow FM’s World Folk Show and The Magic Bus or to record a studio session for future broadcast.
